Nov. 21, 2015 - Professor Helen Shen of the Department of Asian & Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Iowa now offers a new course “Chinese character writing and calligraphy" every Spring.
On March 3, 2015, Professor of Guangxi Art Institute and calligrapher Dr. Tang Kaizhi (唐楷之) visited Emory University. During his visit, Dr. Tang gave a public lecture entitled “Shu Not Shu: Interpreting Modern Chinese Calligraphy,” and conducted a Chinese calligraphy workshop for Emory undergraduate students taking the course “Chinese Writing Systems in Asia” taught by Dr. Yu Li.
Dr. Tang is Professor and Chair of the Calligraphy Department, Guangxi Art Institute, and Research Associate at the Modern Calligraphy Research Institute, China Academy of Fine Arts.
On November 12, 2014, the 2014 New York International Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition was held at the Peony Ballroom, Queens Crossing in Flushing, New York. Mr. John S. C. Wang, executive board member of the ASSCE, participated in the exhibition.
